Question
I am a new farmer and I live in Richland OR we are at an elevation of 2300'give or take a foot. I have 86 acres of alfalfa orchard grass mix on flood irrigation. The alfalfa is pretty thin and I was hopping to get buy for a couple of years before I till it under and rotate my crop. I supply hay for beef cows. should I overseed with more orchard grass for the next couple of years and what type of orchard grass if that is what you recommend?

Answer
Mike
Don't know how thick the orchard grass is now. If you think it might be too thin to get a good cutting,go ahead and reseed with the type you first used or you can ask if there is a better grass from the seed dealer in your area.
Good luck,
Richard
