Question
I am doing some landscaping for my aunt and she has a large portion of her property (about 1 acre) that she only wants to have preexisting large pine trees and no undergrowth. I have cleared the undergrowth last summer and put down a lot of pine straw and round up, but the weeds kept coming right back. I read that another person had a similar situation and was recommended by the expert on this site, to use a mixture of diuron and glyphosate, or glyphosate and bromacil. Do you think this will work for my situation? And if so, could you tell me where to buy products like this? Im having trouble finding anything other than glyphostate found in round up. Anything you could tell me would be appreciated! Thanks.

When you cleared the land you left weed seeds there. The trouble you now have is the seeds sprouting. The weeds need to be growing for the Roundup to work. Do not use any thing that will sterilize the ground. Any chemical that will sterilize the ground will leach into the ground and kill the trees.Your best bet is to spray the weeds with 2-4-D or any herbicide that will work on the weeds, and spray only when the weeds start growing. Ju8st follow the directions on the lable.
Hope this helps.
