Questionwhat kind of investment is required to begin living and working in the way you describe...is it a large financial investment or not so much? is land expensive where you are?
AnswerHello Peter,
Mine was not so much of an investment, but rather a divestment of the rat race and hamster wheel lifestyle. We simply sold our city home and moved to the country and the rest has been a working education in progress. I place my faith in G~D and I wouldn't even attempt this without HIM. Now as to the investment. I saw a small A frame house, all electric with a well, septic tank, and a little over six acres, mostly timber and no fence or out buildings, just sell for $29,900. That was a foreclosure and would have taken a great deal of work, but that's the latest I have for a ball park figure. We have 2 completely cleared acres, fenced with barn, sheds, well, septic, and cabin workshop that will be for sale soon. The biggest expenses we incurred after purchasing the land is fencing and out buildings. In our area the real difference in price is timber or cleared pasture, with cleared land being more expensive.
I do have a modest income, which more than covers my life of simplicity.
I hope this helps and would certainly encourage you to check more into this lifestyle. I would never go back to the city or the stress.
My website is listed beneath my name.
Kind Regards,
KD Liz
