Question
I have a 6'apple sapling tree, that I planted a few years ago. The trunk is about 1" in diameter, also I planted a few flowers around it making this section into a small garden. This year I put ceder mulch in this garden. But we have noticed that the leafs have developed a fungus(apple rust) on them. What can I do to save the sapling?

Answer
Dear Mike,
I'd say if this happened after the cedar mulch, it may be related.  Go to your nursery where you got the mulch and ask if anyone else has had this problem and how you can neutralize the effect.
I hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
KD Liz
