Question
I live in central Kentucky which has just a few inches of top soil with a base of clay.  Aside from building my beds up with additional costly soil, is there a way to work the clay out or do something about the clay so I can improve the quality of the flower beds?  Thank you

I have never had clay soil to work with. From what I could guess you will probly need to add soil to the top of the clay. I can only guess that if you added lawn clippings you would end up with a wet brick. That is all I can tell you on this subject, sorry.
