Air Quality/Diesel Generators and the EPA

Question
Hi Jay,
I'm being told that the EPA has some new ruling going into effect in 2006 that will render our two-cycle diesel power generator illegal. Something about diesel particulate emissions. I can find all kinds of regulations on the EPA site, but nothing specific enough to outside mounted diesel power generators. Can you point me to something?

Thanks for you help,
Henry

Answer
There are a couple of EPA posibilities.  One is the Tier 3 nonroad engine rules (nonroad mobile sources) and the other is the engine MACT standard.  States (like California) have separate initiatives.  I would check out the following site:  http://www.enginemanufacturers.org/about/industry.asp
