Question
I've heard that 1 volcanic eruption gives as much pollution and does as much damage to the ozone level as all the man made causes. Is that correct?

Answer
Hi

This is not really my area of work so you may be better served by one of the others on the list.  However to my knowledge, some people take the view that volcano eruptions do emit large amounts of pollution and this is certainly the case.  It is not really an accurate comparison as the most damaging things to the ozone layer are CFC's which last a very long time in the upper atmosphere. Volcanoes will not emit these.

As regards the relative amounts I have no Idea sorry
