Air Quality/air pollution & recycling
Expert: Dave Russell - 4/22/2004
QuestionHi Dave
I tried to send an email but it didnt get through - I am trying again!
We are based in Bendigo, south east Australia.
We have new recycling machinery - unique. 7 years ago engineers said this technology was impossible!
Now we can recycle waste rice and wheat straw into very high tech, low cost building products (large lightweight bricks, lumber, doors, tiles - all fireproof, waterproof, excellent insulation qualities etc.)
Rice straw especially is burned in many countries, causing air pollution.
We will start here in Australia this November, then expand to USA (California, Arkansas etc.)
Government assistance later.
Our machinery will be placed in affordable warehouse/factories. Low cost production. Huge profit margins will be possible even on smaller mark ups.
Would you have any useful contacts (from your networks)for enabling the more rapid expansion of this new recycling industry? is it suitable for your area?
Any comments about all this from you most welcome...we live in an isolated part of the world!

AnswerWhy not contact me directly at dlr@mindspring.com and give me some more information about the product. Understand though that you are going to have to overcome product resistance and answer questions about the insulation value of the material and its strength and insect resistance, etc.
I'll await information and see if there is any way I can help you.
One bit of advice... Do not attempt to market this product as if it was the greatest invention since sliced bread. That's the approach everyone else usess and we've all become skeptical enough so that we don't pay attention to that.
You also might want to consider how this might be able to help areas where there is wheat rather than rice.
