Air Travel/Luggage allowance

Question
How is it that when I travel from Australia to any destination other than the US or Canada I am only allowed one check in bag of 22kgs.  However travelling to or from those two countries (no matter the airline),I am allowed 2 bags of 30kgs? This is discriminatory I believe.

Answer
Dear Robyn,

As discriminatory as it may looks like, the baggage allowance is set based on the bilateral agreement signed by the Governments of the countries involved and the airlines which by their turn are authorized to fly between such countries must adhere to this regulation.

Hope this helps to answer your question.
