Question
My fianance, lives in Benin, she is being told by travel agent, that any one traveling out of the country, to live permanently, must apply for 6 months medical insurance. and the cost of this is $1050.

Answer
Dear Devon,

It seems very strange that a travel agent asks somebody who is permanently leaving the country to contract medical services.

In my opinion, you'll need to investigate this issue to avoid to get yourself into any trouble. Her medical benefits access, when she moves, will be only up to the US, not Benin.

Please contact the US Embassy to recheck it.

Best Regards,
