Question
Hi,
I am a home canner and was wondering-do vacuum sealed mason jars of jelly retain their hermetic seal when located in checked baggage during flight?
Thank you very much,
Sarah

Answer
Dear Sarah,

Could you please confirm what exactly was not clear on the answer in order to allow me to follow up?
Thank you!

It can vary depending on the pressurization of the baggage hold. It's normal to experience some problems with shampoo and other cosmetics that does not have vacuum seals and the best thing to do is to adhere some tape to avoid leakage.

Best Regards,
