Question
Hi, I was hoping that you could help. My family and I will be travelling in June from New Zealand to Canada via Tahiti. I have just been infomed that the flight that we booked and been changed to the day before, this means that we now have to have an overnight stay in LA. The airline is not keen on paying for our accommadation in LA. Seeing as the airline changed their flight (after we had booked and paid for the flights) do they have to provide us with accommadtion and meals etc????

Thanks

Answer
Dear Carey,

If your original booking did not involve a layover in LA, it is fair that the airline compensate you and your family for the change and the related inconvenience.

If they did not accept this, you can always check with the proper Aviation Authority (in this case New Zealand) at:

Aviation House

Lower Hutt
New Zealand 5040
