Air Travel/Non US citizens visiting Cuba

Question
If an Australian citizen wishes to use LA Airport as a transit point simply to proceed on to Central America, are there any implications on the return leg if they visit Cuba as part of that trip?

Answer
Dear Brian,

You'll need to fill out on your return I-94 green (form used for participants of the Visa Waiver Agreement for entry in the US) that you visited Cuba. The US Immigration office may ask you some questions regarding your stay in Cuba and your travel plans.
It will be upon her/his judgement to ask for more information.

Aside from this, I do not foresee any problems.

Best Regards,
