Question
I am going to China soon and was asked if I could bring a couple bottles of fish oil pills and whiskey with me.  Is this allowed on overseas flights?

Answer
There is no problem with the fish oil pills.

I'm afraid that I am a little out of the loop on the official policy regarding packing booze in a checked bag.  Last I knew it was OK with the TSA.  But since you're going to another country, there may be customs requirements about how much whiskey you can bring into China.  I am certainly not up on Chinese Customs Regulations.  My suggestion is to either a) risk it, figuring that a bottle or two is under the limit (pack it well!); or b) buy the whiskey at Duty Free.  In fact, I recommend "b" because you are pretty well guaranteed that you will be within legal limits.  And since you always receive Duty Free AFTER security screening, you won't have to worry about your bottles being taken away.
