Air Travel - Interline of baggage

Expert: Roberto Gomes - 10/31/2009

Question
I have booked the ticked from expedia from Dubai(Emirates airlines) to Edmonton(air canada) connections in frankfurt (have to change airlines from Emirates to Air canada) and calgary (Air canada). Do i have to check in every time or the baggage is interlined? If i have to take transit visa in frankfurt (connection time is 1 hr 15 min)?

Answer
Dear TS,

1. Normally the baggage is checked through your final destination since most of the airlines have between themselves what we call "Interline Agreement".

2. As far as visa is concern, I'll need to know your nationality and which passport your are holding.

Best Regards,
R.Gomes
