Question
Hi, Im currently in California and i'm going home on the 25th of November, I reside in New Zealand. I have a 10hour layover in Sydney I have family there who I wish to visit while there, I want to know if I can leave the airport for the day and come back to get on my transfer flight without any complications.

Answer
Dear Jessica,

By your description, I'm assuming that you are a New Zealand citizen an has a NZ passport.
During your layover in Sydney to leave the airport transit area, you must have an Australian visa.
The same applies for holders of an US passport.

Hope this helps.
Best Regards,
