Question
Hello robert, my daughter is returning to Australia next week from Canada and is transiting through lax airport In Oct of last year she had a weeks holiday in San Francisco and her 90 day VWP expired end of Jan 09. she has been approved for travel under the new ESTA system. As a concerned father will she be ok transiting through the US (total layover time approx 1 hr 35 minutes) Regards Russell

Answer
Dear Russell,

Since she was previously approved her status should be ok.
You can check it at the following link:

https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/esta.html?_flowExecutionKey=_c748F3B7E-9ACB-52EF-84AA-D725A5C7DE13_kC4B6E8A2-0F2D-BC33-DDA8-928DF88A52B9

When checking in, make sure that her bags (and if possible boarding cards) are checked through Australia, since depending on the airlines used (and therefore arrival/departure terminals at LAX) the connection time may be tight.

Best Regards,
R. Gomes
