Question
My travel agent told me yesterday that my nephew could not fly on an airplane because he fell and broke his ankle and has a cast on his ankle. The cast is water proof, which probably doesn't make any difference. Do we need to get this cast replaced?? This child is already so upset because he is out of baseball for another month. I can't tell him that he can not go on this family vacation. Please help! Thank you so much

Answer
Dear Jamie,

I never heard such thing.
The only recommendation is if a cast was placed on a part of the body less than 72 hours before the trip. Depending on the airline you'll need to ask their medical department.
Call the airline involved to clarify.
