Air Travel/Hand Luggage Requirments

Question
Hi
I was wondering if you would be able to tell me what restrictions there are on items to take on plane?
I am travelling to Majorca, Spain in September and i want to take my vitamins with me and make up, I'd prefer to take in hand luggage as the pills in the suitcase could look suspicious and I don't want to get delayed over some vitamin c, and the make up i use is powder and could empty into my clothes etc... I understand they would need to be newly bought and unopened but I'm unsure if they are allowed in the hand luggage... Thanks very much! Vicki

Answer
Dear Vicki,

The security restrictions applies for liquids only and are based on a 3-1-1 rule:

3.4 ounce bottle or less (by volume);
1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag;
1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin.

One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring and 3.4 oz. container size is a security measure.

Place your make-up liquid items in a plastic bag on your checked baggage. This will avoid any spillage on your clothes.

Best Regards,
