Question
My daughter is flying from Atlanta, Ga to Madrid via Amsterdam and Paris.  How will the going through customs work for her?  She is taking Northwest Airlines then Delta.  Will she need to claim her bags from Northwest when she arrives in Amsterdam and go through customs, then go to Delta check her bags and do the same thing when she arrives when she arrives in Paris? Thank you.

Answer
Dear Cathy,

Provided that Northwest tags her bags to the final destination (Madrid) she won't need to clear Customs in Amsterdan and Paris. Also ask Northwest to produce if possible all the boarding cards for the segments involved. This will place her as "international transit" in Amsterdan and Paris, avoiding be in line for checking-in.

Best Regards,
