Question
i incorrectly purchased two tickets for my 14 year old twin girls on the usair website as Adults.  They will be traveling from RDU to Austin unaccompanied. I called usair with some other questions, and was told that they cannot fly unattended until age 15 - which is three months.  They will not refund my tickets. They will also not offer me the $100 surcharge for unaccompanied flyers since the flight is not non stop (it stops in charlotte for 1 hour and then continues onto austin in the same plane - no disembarking). The girls have NC state picture id's .... what are the chanced that the gate check at rdu will not pick up the error?  If the ticket says adult, will they just check their picture id and move on?

Answer
Dear Rose,

You can try to bypass the error, but chances are 50-50.

You can try to re-issue the tickets and get the difference on a voucher that might be used to pay the unaccompanied service $100 fee.

It will be up to US Air to decide this issue.
