Question
Roberto, my wife and I are flying on KLM depart SFO KL6216 with stop in Detroit 22nd September, serviced by North West

The flight from Detroit to Amsterdam is KL 6068

Do we check in at the domestic North West terminal in SFO, and do the international passport etc in Detroit when we change aircraft, or do we check in at the KLM International desk in SFO and do it there

Many thanks in advance for your help

Alex

Answer
Dear Alex,

Although the flights are KLM, in fact they are operated by its partner Northwest. You have to go there in SFO for check-in. Your bags will be checked directly to AMS and you will receive your boarding passes for the legs SFO-Detroit and Detroit-AMS.

In the US when you leaving the country, they do not process your exit. Just make sure to turn out your I-94 forms (if you aren't an US resident) in Detroit, otherwise you'll probably face problems returning to the US.

Hope this clarifies your question.

Best Regards,
R. Gomes
