Question
My girlfriend lives in Russia and she is traveling to the US she was told that she would have to show $3000 dollars to customs. In order for her to arrive here. Is this true?

Answer
Dear Patrick,

There is no regulation that says the specific amount that a tourist visiting the US must present to the inspectors.

Passengers not having proof of sufficient funds for length of stay and outward travel may be refused entry. Visitor who does not hold return/onward ticket and documents required for return or onward destination could be refused entry and returned to point of origin.

Hope this clarifies your question.
Best Regards,
