How does the person picking up my 13 year old get a pass to go to the gate and pick her up?
If you are picking up someone at the airport, I do not think you can go to the arriving gate where he/she deplanes. You can ask the check-in counter of the airline he/she is flying with and see if you can get a pass.
Other than that, you will have to wait at the baggage claim area.
