Question
thanks Roberto

hey i can't get a straight answer from united airlines on carry-ons. the "TSA" web site said that you are allowed 2 items as a carry-on a small bag and 1 personal item, which they say can be a back pack? so in theory 2 bags are allowed.
what i want to do, is travel extreamly lite, using my back pack and small carry-on bag as my "carry-ons", and no "check in" bags at all. but united does not count a back pack as a personal item. do you think i'm in for a big hassle if i try to go forward with this plan?
thanks

hello
i'm planning to go on an international flight and was wondering?
can you bring as a "carry-on" your own food and drink, (non alcholic) onto the plane?
thanks
Dino
Answer -
Dear Dean,

Yes you can. Normally airlines do not have any restriction on this provided that your own food consists on a sandwich and fruit. Remember that you must pack it with disposal material. They will not reheat any item.

Answer
Dear Dean,

From the United web site ...

Carry-on bags
For travel worldwide on United, you may carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse, briefcase, or laptop computer. A carry-on bag must fit under your seat or in the overhead bin. Its dimensions should not be more than 9x14x22 (length + width + height) or 45 linear inches (the length, height and width added together).  United may require that a carry-on item travel as checked baggage if the item cannot be safely stowed on a particular flight.
United exempts the following personal items from the one piece limit:

1.Child safety seats for ticketed children
2.Assistive devices (e.g. canes, crutches, etc.)
3.Outer garments (e.g. coats, hats, etc.)

Note that they are very specific about the measures.
Hope this clarifies your question.

Best Regards,
R. Gomes
