Air Travel/Carry On Alcohol Regulations

Question
With the new 3 oz liquid carry on rules in the US, I was wondering if we can carry on unopened alcohol? If so how much? I am travelling from the states back to Canada.

Thank you!

Answer
Dear Julia,

Sorry but you can't.

The TSA just published a 3-1-1 rule for carry-ons which is:

3 ounce bottle or less;
1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag;
1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3 oz. container size is a security measure.

All other liquids must be in your checked baggage.

Best Regards,
