Question
I just finished booking a trip I am flying via Delta from Atlanta to DFW and then from DFW to Amarillo via American Airlines. I am going to need to check my baggage. What procedure do I need to go about getting my luggage to my final destination? Will I have to get my luggage out of baggage claim in Dallas and recheck it with American so that it can get to Amarillo?

Thanks
Laura

Answer
Dear Laura,

You will be arriving in DFW by Delta at Terminal E and AA's flights to Amarillo will depart from Terminal B.

Connecting between flights is quick and easy at DFW Airport. That’s because DFW has an excellent connecting service called the Skylink which is a high-speed train, inside security and connects all five terminals with an average ride time of less than 5 minutes.

As far as baggage connection is concern, I did not find any information to give you when I checked both airlines site.

Since you can not check-in at Delta for an AA flight, I believe that the same procedure applies to baggage. I'll recommend that you play safe with your connecting times in order to avoid a misconnection. But when checking in with Delta, ask the customer service representative about your itinerary and if it is possible to check your baggage interline.

Please send me this information to allow me to help other people with the same question. I'll appreciate your input and wish you a pleasant flight.

Best Regards,
R. Gomes
