-Hi
It doesn't matter which airline. heres the situation. I'm going back east in a few months. My mom wants to go with me but she has a small love bird that gets very upset if she leaves it. It will pick its feathers, starve itself etc. My mom is afraid for the bird to travel in the luggage compartment. So I was wondering which airline, if any would alow her to take the bird into the cabin.
Thanks
Tammy

Answer -
Dear Tammy,

Not all airlines have the same procedures in place. I need to know your travel plans and airline to answer this question.

Best regards,

Sorry, but it does. Again I need to know which airline you are planning to travel with. Without this information I won't be able to answer your question.
Thanks,

Answer
Here we go...
American Airlines police regarding pets:
Cats, dogs and household birds are accepted for travel in the cabin unless travel is on Transatlantic, Transpacific, Central or South American flights; service animals are accepted for travel in the cabin (counted towards carry-on baggage);
Pets can be checked as baggage outside the embargo dates - this includes dogs, cats, household birds and pot-bellied pigs; pet bird shipments from CA and VA to PA must be accompanied by a permit; Entry of household birds into the US is strictly controlled - only1 or 2 personally owned birds may be brought into the US but only at New York, Miami, Laredo, El Paso, Nogales, Los Angeles and Honolulu (entry is not allowed through Chicago); Minimum age for dogs, cats and pot-bellied pigs is eight weeks; Only one pet carriers is allowed per passenger on the flight in the cabin (cost is $75 each way) and the pets must be between the ages of 8 weeks and 6 months, less than 20 pounds each and small enough to fit in one carrier with room to move about; There is a maximum of carry-on pets allowed in each aircraft (in other words, CALL - it's first come, first serve); Checked baggage:  Two pets per customer are allowed per flight.

Hope this helps.
