Question
I am flying to Singapore/Koh Samui with British Airways/Quantos May 2006, can you tell me if there is any weight allowance for my equipment (wet suit, flippers and mask, No tanks!)

Thanks
Dave

Answer
Dear Dave,

You are travelling to a destination where the baggage weight system applies, so your diving equipment will be weighed along with any other checked baggage you have.

Baggage which is over the weight allowance is charged what is called excess baggage. Rates vary per kilo dependant on destination.

Example charges: London to Dubai is approximately GBP17.50 per excess kilo and London to Singapore is approximately GBP33.00 per kilo.

Also since you will be using other carrier(Qantas) - if BA charges your baggage excess the amount will be prorated with Qantas. (BA will charge you from London to your final destination).

Hope this helps.
Best Regards,
