| Comment | We did take our Akita to a vet and he is now on large doses of antibotics and anti-imflamatory drugs. The vet stated that "Max" had numeous "hot spots" on and around his tail and under his hind end. Hard for us to spot on Max as he is 106 lbs. however great with the vet. Why, we don't know. Our dog has shown increased emprovement for the week he has been taking his meds. He still has several doses to go. Hope this helps other pets that show the same problems. He is such a sweet dog and we love him very much. Fortunately "Max" was raised as a lap dog. LOL Thank you. | ||
I have owned and handled many Akitas throughout my lifetime. I have volunteered at rescue centres and have taken part in canine training programs.
Although as was said, each dog varies from the other, though breed specific traits must be considered, and it is the Akita that I specialise in.
If there is a question that I am unsure of, I have many contacts available that I can converse with before giving you an answer. But I will most definitely always give an answer to the best of my ability, whether I need to research or not.
