I WANTED A MALE FOR PROTECTION WHEN IM HOME ALONE BUT MALES SEEM TOO AGGRESSIVE AND MORE PROBLEMATIC SO WOULD A FEMALE BE BETTER MY KIDS ARE 10 AND 14 AND WEVE READ EVERY AVAILABLE WEBSITE W/AKITA INFO FOR WEEKS AND WE REALLY WANT THIS BREED BUT WOULD A FEMALE PROTECT YOU? AND BE MORE CALMER WITH YOUR KIDS?BECAUSE THATS WHAT I WANT.

Well, male akitas are naturally more aggressive then females but it all depends on how you train them. A male would protect you but probably be  a little more aggressive then females towards other people but not your kids. A female would protect you just as good. Its just going to be how you train them. But i have to say both male and females protect you fine and the sex of the dog shouldn't be your worry the personality and training should
