Akita/akita

Question
hi-can you help !
we have a half akita/springer spaniel  bitch of four years old, a great natured and wonderful pet ! thinking a full bred akita might be the answer to some of her lonesome times we purchased one at 24 weeks old earlier this year.also a bitch we was told that one might want to become the dominant one ! expcting this to happen we thought that would lead to just a bit of bickering. in last fortnite we have had two quite serious incidence's both being took to the vet for numerous gashes and bite marks brought on by serious fighting. in general they seem to be best of mates and get on great 99% of the time. it seems they dont want to share anything at all especially dead rabbits from the fields where we live- in the countryside. do you think it would be best to pass on our recently acquired full akita or is there anything we can do as would love to keep both.
thanx for your time - rsvp carrie

Answer
Well akitas were used for hunting and they are very aggresive when it comes to this. I do not think you should get rid of either one of them. The best thing you could do is get both of them seperate everything. And dont let them hunt together our eat together because this will cause fights. You will have to work with them to resovle this problem but i hope this helps                      Alex
