Question
Hi Leslie,

My husband and I want to drive to gulf shores with another couple who are friends of ours. This is sort of a "last minute" tight budget trip, but we definitely still want to stay in a nice place that is clean. On the beach would be great, but across from the beach would be fine too if it was cheaper. We want a pretty, quiet beach where we can just lay out and relax. Any suggestions on where to stay?

Thanks!

Answer
Dear Marina:

I have not visited Gulf Shores since before the hurricanes hit. However, here are some web sites that can point you in the right direction:

www.gulfshores.com

www.gulf-shores-alabama.net

www.touralabama.org

In my experience, Orange Beach is a little more quiet than Gulf Shores.

Also, the Wal-Mart in Foley is a little cheaper than the one in Gulf Shores. Don't forget to check out the outlet stores in Foley.

Good luck on your vacation. Let me know if you need anything else.

Sincerely,

Leslie
