Alaska/TV series seeks families moving to remote Alaska

Question
Hi Michael,

Ricochet Films are the producers of the successful ABC series Super Nanny. We're now making a new documentary series for Discovery US, which will follow American families as they set up a new life on a remote homestead. We're looking for families who are planning to make the move to the wilderness within the next few months, with ambitious plans on self-sufficient living in a remote part of the States - for example, building a cabin, raising animals and living totally off the grid.  We're really keen to film with families moving to remote Alaska.

I'd really appreciate it if you were able to forward the following appeal to ask any families making this kind of move, asking them to get in touch:

DO YOU LONG FOR AN ADVENTUROUS OFF-THE-GRID LIFESTYLE?

ARE YOU SELLING UP, LEAVING THE CITY, AND MOVING YOUR FAMILY TO THE WILDERNESS?

LEAVING THE DESK JOB TO PURSUE A DREAM OF SURVIVAL IN AN OFF-THE-GRID REGION OF THE STATES?

Discovery are making a new TV show and are looking for families moving to a self sufficient life in the wilderness.

If this sounds like you or anyone you know, please call 1- 323 692 3038 or e-mail homestead@ricochet.co.uk - website: www.ricochet.co.uk

We do have an office in LA, but our initial research for this project is coming from our London office. You can contact me on 011 44 207 251 6966 or at this e-mail address.

Many thanks for your help - I look forward to hearing from you soon. In the meanwhile, you can view all of our productions at www.ricochet.co.uk

Answer
Hello James!

Well that's about the most "interesting" question I've ever had the honor of receiving via AllExperts, but unfortunately, I have no way of actually posting your quest.

On the other hand, if anyone does visit this website and inquires about 'Alaska' they will have an opportunity to view your specific question and perhaps reply to it.

Sorry I couldn't provide much help in regards to your request...I wish you tons of luck though, because I for one will anxiously await the results of your search and without a doubt, get the word out to everyone that I know to watch it when it does air.  Good luck James!

p.s.  by the way, I've been tempted more than once in my life to just pack my family and move back up there...especially after what all I'VE seen and experienced up there in the remotest and quietest parts of Alaska. It was my personal "heaven on earth", that's for sure.

Expertise

I am very knowledgable and experienced on where to go and what to do in ALASKA. I spent 3 years hiking and doing my wildlife and scenic photography there and can offer a multitude of traveling advice (and helpful hints) while in or traveling to Alaska.

Experience

I have traveled all over Alaska, including the end of the Aleutian Island chain, driven on every single named highway in and around Alaska (except one), climbed and camped out on Gulkana Glacier, and fished for halibut in Prince William Sound. I spent my finest hours photographing caribou, moose, grizzly, and bald eagles.
