Algebra/0.005 & (0.00)1/2

QuestionHello:
I want to thank you for the reply.
If (0.00) = 0, so 0*(1/3) = 0 then 0.003 = (0.00) = 0 = 0*3 = 0, but this is not true.
The 1/3 occupies the 1/100 place. The fraction shares the place value with the zero of 1/100.

Hello:
I want to thank you for the reply.
No, I'm not mistaken. I really mean (0.00)1/2. Here is another example to help demonstrate: (0.33)1/3 - 0.33 = (0.00)1/3. The decimal (0.00)1/3 represents 1/3 of 1/100 = 1/300.
I want to know how to convert 1/300 to (0.00)1/3, or in my first example below, how to convert 1/200 or 0.005 to (0.00)1/2.
I want to determine a calculation that can reverse 1/200 or 0.005 to equal (0.00)1/2.
I thank you for your follow-up reply.

Hello:
I can express the complex decimal of (0.00)1/2 (1/2 of 1/100) as 1/200 and then to 0.005, but I cannot determine a calculation that can reverse the process of going from 0.005 or 1/200 that equals (0.00)1/2.
I can divide out 1/100 from 1/200 to get 1/2 X 1/100, but I cannot determine a calculation that equals (0.00)1/2.
Do you know of a calculation that will equal this type of complex fraction such as (0.00)1/2?
I thank you for your reply.

Hi,
I think what you meant to write is (0.01)1/2 instead of (0.00)1/2.
(.005) = (.01)*(1/2)
.005 = 5/1000 = 1/200 = 1/2*(1/100) = (.01)*(1/2)
I hope this helps.

(0.00) = 0, so 0*(1/3) = 0
AnswerHi,
Now I see what you are doing. I hadn't seen that format before.
0.00(1/2) simply means that the thousandths place is 1/2 or 0.5.
1/300 = 0.003333...
the fraction (333..)/(100..) = 1/3. So, the answer is
(0.00)(1/3).
Another example: 1/250 = 0.004
The 4 in the thousandths place is 4/10 or 2/5, so we can write
0.00(2/5)
I hope this helps.
