i have a question where it asks me to change a standard equation of a line to a slope-intercept of a line, and then to a point-slope equation.
it goes like this: standard:2x-6y=5
                  slope-intercept:
                  point-slope
i dont really get how to convert the standard one to the slope intercept and then to the point slope, and i get confused
will u plz help me?


Answer
the slope-intercept form is y=mx+b so you have y = (1/3)x -5/6
For the point-slope form you have y-y1 = m(x-x1) so you solve the
slope-intercept form for y1 for some x1 and get, for example,
(1,-1/2), so you have y+1/2 = (1/3)(x-1) or  y = (1/3)x -5/6, the same thing.
