Question
I have two problems, the first one is f(b)=|3-4b| I'm pretty sure it is  needing to be in Y=mx+b format But I'm just stumped... My math book does not have an example thats close to this, and I have no idea where or how to start this. The second question is I started graphing this function

x-2 if x is less than or equal to 3
       f(x) =
                 -x+8 is x is greater than 3
I plotted  points but the lines are going to intersect    It just doesn't seem right when usually these problems  gives a vertex.

Answer
No, you can't put it into a y=mx+b format since that's a straight line and this is not.  f(b) is always positive so just plot a few points.  For example, f(0) = 3, f(1) = 1, f(2) = 5, f(-1) = 7, etc.
For the second one, they can't intersect since the first line stops at (3,1)
