Question
Getting the zero of a function.
4X^3-24X^2-X+6

Answer
Hello Ashley,

So, you want to solve 4X^3-24X^2-X+6=0...
Factor by grouping: 4x^2(x-6)-1(x-6)=0
Now factor out the (x-6) to get: (x-6)(4x^2-1)=0
Now factor the 4x^2-1 to get: (x-6)(2x+1)(2x-1)=0
Now set each factor to zero and solve: x-6=0 OR 2x+1=0 OR 2x-1=0
==> x=6 OR x=-1/2 OR x=1/2

OK?
