Question
solving by substitution how do i solve
1/5x-3/8y=2
-5/6y+4=1/3x

please respind as soon as possible!!

Answer
when you write 1/5x it looks like you could be dividing 1 by 5x.
for clarity, you should write them (1/5)x-(3/8)y = 2 and
(-5/6)y+4 = (1/3)x
multiply the 2nd eq. by 3 to get x = (-5/2)y+4
substitute that into the 1st eq. to get (1/5)[(-5/2)y+4]-(3/8)y = 2
so x = 52/7 and y = -48/35
