Question
I need to find the vertex, the axis of symmetry and the direction in which the parabola opens and to state my reasoning.
x=2y²-3
The easiest way to answer your questions is to plot the parabola. For y = 0, x = -3
Put in y = +/- 1, +/- 2, +/- 3. calculate the corresponding values for x and plot x,y for each point. Do that and contact me again if you haven't been able to answer your questions.
