Question
how do you plot y=1/4x + 6?

Answer
First of all, to avoid confusion, you should write it y = (1/4)x+6
That's the equation for a straight line so it only takes two points to plot it.
Just put in a value for x, calculate y, and plot (x,y).
One point is (0,6).  Pick another value for x and plot it.
