Question
write the equation of a line that models a data set and use the equation to make predictions. Describe the slope of the line in terms of the data, recognizing that the slope is the rate of change.

Answer
Suppose critters that take 7 pints of water to wash the cage each day and
that drink 3 pints each day for each of them.  They're so lovable, there might be more than one.
I'm not sure what kind of critters, but they sure are cute.

Any way, the amount of water would be 7 pints each day plus 3 pints per critter.
The amount of water, in pints, would be y = 3x + 7 where x is the number of cute critters.

The slope would be 3, for that is how many pints each critter requires.

Is this what you're after?
