Questionthe table lists data regarding the average saleries of several professional atheletes in the years 1991 and 2001.
1-use the data points to find linear function that fits the data
2-predict the salary in 2005 and 2010.
1991-$265,000
2001-$1,360,000
also:
write an equation of the line containing the given point and perpendicular to the given line. express your answer in the form y=mx+b
(7.8);9x+y=6 and the same question but with:
(9,-5);7x+2y=5
any help would be apprieciated
Answer1. S(t) = 265000+109500t where t is the number of years since 1991
2. S(14) = $1,798,000 S(19) = $2,345,500
y = -9x+6 so slope of perpendicular line is 1/9
8 = (1/9)7 +b so b = 65/9 and the line is y = (1/9)x +65/9
or you could write it 9y = x+65
y = (-7/2)x +5/2 so slope of perpendicular line is 2/7
the new line is y = (2/7)x -53/7 or 7y = 2x-53
