Question
can u help me solve this, it's for my nephew's assignment for tom.i'll be glad if u can give me the complete solution.tnx!

5/3x+2y=1/3+y
2x-3+y/3=-2+x

Answer
First of all, for clarity, you need to write (5/3)x+2y = 1/3 +y
and I assume you mean 2x-3 +(y/3) = -2+x
Next, combine terms to get
(5/3)x +y = 1/3 and x +(y/3) = 1
Now multiply each term by 3 to get
5x +3y = 1 and 3x +y = 3
Now, since y = 3-3x you can substitute that into 5x+3(3-3x) = 1
and get x = 2 and therefore, y = -3

If that wasn't elaborate enough for you then you and your nephew are both in big trouble.
