Question

Ako po ay perplexedly our pinagaaralan now to solve systems of Linear equations by eliminating method and the example you my not understand:
2x + 3y = 8
2x - 3y = 0
ako po ay nasa 2nd year highschool

Answer
Hello Sarah,

If we simply add the two, we will eliminate the y's:
4x=8, so x=2...now we can substitute x=2 into either equation to
determine y (letting x=4 into the 1st equation gives 4+3y=8, so y=4/3),
or we can do elimination again to eliminate the x's.  If we subtract
the two equations: 6y=8, so y=8/6=4/3.

OK?

Abe
