thanks! .. hope you can help me

Answer
Hi Vanessa,

Sorry it took me a few days to get back with you.

(2x-7)^2= 14

take the square root of both sides

(2x-7) = +SQRT(14) and -SQRT(14)

add 7 to both sides

2x = +SQRT(14)+7 and -SQRT(14)+7

divide both sides by 2

x = (SQRT(14)+7)/2 and (-SQRT(14) + 7)/2

For the second one, I get

x = (-3 +- SQRT(17))/4

For the third one, I get

x = -9/2, and x = 1

Let me know if you have any questions.
