Question
Hi, I'm in seventh grade, and I need a little help. This question is in my
pre-algebra book: The marble emporium sells individual marbles and bags of
marbles. Each bag contains the same number of marbles. a. Rita bought a bag of
marbles, plus 1 extra marble. Is it possible that she bought an even number of
marbles? I have tried to figure it out, but I just don't understand how to go
about finding the answer. I thought it might have something to do with the 2
odds equal an even...but wasn't sure. Thank you, I appreciate it.

Answer
Even numbers always end in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8.

This says the Emporium selss bags of marble,
but it does not say how many marbles the bags contain.

A bag might, for example, contain 25 marbles.
If she buys 1 more, that would be 26 marbles.

The number 26 is an even number.
