Question
Solve.
2k+5(-9k-5)=24+6k

Answer
Take 2k+5(-9k-5)=24+6k and multiply out what is in the parenthesis.
The result should be 2k -45k - 25 = 24 + 6k.

Combine 2k - 45k and get -43k, so now the equation is -43k - 25 = 24 + 6k.

Add 43k - 24 to both sides.  This should give -49 = 49k.

Divide both sides by 49, and there is the answer.

You know, -1 = k.

Now or k = -1 is the customary way to say that.
