Question
Hi Michael,
i'm sorry but i just didn't get the way you work out the sequence i gave you. Is there any simper ways to work out the rule?

thankyou natalie.

ps: sorry :)

Answer
Hello again, Natalie

Good you asked. I will try to make it clear now.
The rule governing this sequence is addition.
What I mean is you have to add some number to find the next one.
Try to figure out how the sequence proceeds,
There are exactly six numbers.
The difference between the first two numbers is12 isn’t it?
The difference between the second and the third is 20
The difference between the third and the fourth is 28
The difference between the fourth and the fifth is 36
The difference between the fifth and the sixth is 44. (Just subtract the numbers)

Now look at the behavior of the differences

20 is 12 + 8
28 is 20 + 8
36 is 28 + 8
44 is 36 + 8

The rule is that you have to increase the difference by 8 each time you progress. The first difference is 12; you have to add 8 each time.
