Question
i have no idea how to do algebra can you explain how to solve this problem -16=6a-4

Answer
I'll capitalize A so as not to confuse it with the word "a".

The problem is -16 = 6A - 4.

Now when asked to solve for A, first get expressions with A by itself,
so we add 4 to both sides of the equation.

This gives -12 = 6A.

Now that the A term is by itself, divide by the constant out front.

This gives -12/6 = A, ad -12/6 is ... yeah, you know, its -2.
